We are seeking a Spanish Language Content Producer to work for our client in downtown Washington D.C. The ideal candidate will have several years experience creating and editing Spanish content preferably relating to Finance. Bilingual in Spanish and English is required and ideally someone with a native Spanish language and culture is preferred.
Job Duties:
Will provide top-notch Spanish-language editorial services including the creation of an editorial strategy for each area of concentration (Finance, Entertainment, etc) based on web analytics and organizational priorities; proposing, writing and editing original Spanish-language content for specific channels assigned and corresponding categories.
The channel producer will work in the heart of a fast-paced, daily publishing environment and must be capable of juggling a variety of short- and long-term editorial projects in various stages of development.
The position will be required to work across departments, communicating and collaborating with colleagues from print publications, Broadcast department, Web Strategy & Operations team, and other units in order to launch and promote seamless packages of related content.
Responsibilities include:
Maintains high standards for usability, accuracy, consistency, appearance, and overall quality.
Conceptualizes, assigns, edits, and produces articles and multimedia content, as well as community elements and interactive tools that resonate with Hispanics age 50+, both in the United States and in Latin America. Assigns articles, multimedia features, and interactive tools to freelance writers, vendors, and in-house programmers.
Manages timelines and budgets.
Produces online versions of print articles, appropriately connected to supporting online-extra elements and appropriately promoted and referenced throughout the site.
Selects content from English-language publications for translation into Spanish, reviewing translation against the original English.
Selects daily news and feature stories from a news feed to supplement original content online.
Refreshes top-level pages daily and maintains and organizes all site content.
Requirements:
Completion of a Bachelors degree in journalism or related field(s).
Minimum five years experience in consumer/member publishing, including at least three years in online publishing with a demonstrated understanding of web design and technology standards.
Familiarity with web content management systems and social media. Experience as a multimedia producer a plus.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, with excellent language and editing skills in Spanish, and a deep understanding of Hispanic culture and issues.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
