The successful AWS Architect will be responsible to ensure cloud architectures are designed and maintained to maximize efficiencies, reduce cost, and adhere to mandated frameworks and standards to include prescribed security requirements. This position will be working directly with the customer and infrastructure team itself. The candidate will need to be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced team environment.
Required Skills
A motivated, self-driven, results oriented individual, focused on implementing cloud-based solutions and services. Should be an experienced “solution-oriented” consultant with good business acumen with IT solutions design/development background
Experience developing cloud infrastructure designs and implementations and guiding the process from development to operations
Excellent presentations skills and comfortable presenting to CXO level management
Ability to push a point /right solution in a customer conversation with different type of stakeholders (both technical and non-technical)
In depth knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Ability to work closely with business to understand and incorporate non-functional requirements in the application and infrastructure architecture
Ability to calculate the ROI from adopting cloud and articulate this to customer
Conduct white boarding sessions and present the value from adopting cloud
Ability to create and delivering knowledge sharing presentations and documentation to developers and operations teams (Document system diagrams, run books, and procedures, etc.)
Ability to drive cloud strategy engagements
Knowledge of application deployment and data migration on cloud
Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail
Exposure to DevOps and Agile
Enterprise Architecture exposure/knowledge is needed to connect with customer Architects/CTO/CIO’s and ability to instantly whiteboard and do mindshare on solutions, possible options
Knowledge of public cloud in general and broad knowledge on next gen Cloud services like PaaS, Automation, Containers, application portability
Good Knowledge on Application Architecture, Packaged applications deployment and a programming language like Java/.net
Knowledge of monitoring, logging and cost management in a cloud environment
Understanding of security best practices
Learning on the job and explore new technologies with little supervision
A bachelor’s degree and 7 years of professional work experience (or a master’s degree and 5 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree) is required
5-8 years of experience developing cloud infrastructure designs and implementations and guiding the process from development to operations
Desired Skills:
Prior experience in automated build pipeline, continuous integration and continuous deployment
Preferred- AWS Solutions Architect Certification
Prior experience working with the federal government
Experience with Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Crowd)
Demonstrable experience configuring or maintaining public or private cloud platforms (i.e. Openstack, Cloudstack, AWS, or VMWare with additional automation layer)
