We are seeking a Photo Editor for a contract job in DC. Will work in collaboration with the Director of Photography (DOP) and the Design Director, edits and researches photography and multimedia. Works with the design team to help develop photographic vision for multiple story channels. Works within an established photography budget. Comfortable negotiating usage rights for stock and assignment photography. Procures all necessary releases and contracts. Capable of acting as a producer for original photography. Ensures delivery of accurate photo captions and credits. Works closely with design team and online editors. Contributes to the creative process in coming up with photographic solutions. Demonstrates excellent ability to interact well with others.
Desired Experience:
Bachelors Degree 8 -10 years professional experience (or equivalent)
Expert in Adobe CC.
Familiar with CMS platforms, Digital Asset Management systems, workflow systems.
Proficiency in Photoshop and related design applications
Proficiency in stock photography research and online databases
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of multiple photographic styles
Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask, and to meet deadlines.
Need to have good news image judgement.
Must be able to work weekends and many holidays.
