Sr. Systems Engineer w/VOIP, VTC, SAN, Load Balancing, VMWare

Sr. Systems Engineer working in an integrated team implementing and supporting the latest technologies including
Virtualization, Large Storage Area Networks, VoIP, High Definition VTC, Global and Local Load balancing.

Responsibilities:

Complete systems support for new and existing server, storage and network infrastructure for a multi-data center environment
Participate in the areas of Telecommunications and Network support.

Qualifications

B.S. in Computer Science or a Related Field.
One or more related certifications such as MCSE, VCP, CCNA,
5+ years of experience in a Data Center environment
3+ years of experience designing implementing and maintaining a VMWare infrastructure
Extensive working knowledge in a large and complex ESX server environment, hands on experience with large scale VMware ESX 4.0 and above environments, both in development and production settings.
Ability to troubleshoot advanced VM and ESX issues
Extensive hands on experience with Virtual Center, deploying, managing and assigning resources to deployed systems
Experience with cloning, VMotion and other ESX server features
Experience with the P2V process and virtualization tools for virtualizing physical servers.
Thorough understanding of enterprise datacenter technologies including Networking, Security, TCP/IP, SAN and NAS, physical datacenter practices
Experience with SAN based storage systems specifically Equallogic NetApp\QLogic HBA and iSCSI networking is desired
Must have knowledge of system management best practices, to include scheduling and recovering from SAN array snapshots, complete backup and restoration capabilities, etc.
Extensive hands on design maintenance and support of network switching for SAN implementations
Significant hands on experience with firewall configuration and troubleshooting (Juniper preferred)
Extensive experience with Active Directory
Experience with MS Exchange 2003/2007/2010
Experience with Anti-Spam solutions
Experience with MS Windows 2000/2003/2008 Server (installation, troubleshooting, performance evaluation and improvement etc.)
Familiar with MS SQL Server 2000/2005/2008
Familiar with MS IIS
Experience with VPN systems/technologies
Experience with planning and implementing back-up solutions
Experience with monitoring systems such as AppManager, Site Scope, MOM, OpenView, Tivoli, UniCenter or similar tools
Experience with deployment of packages using tools such as BigFix, SMS, or Altiris
Familiar with network protocols such as: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, IGRP/EIGRP, STP, VRRP, HSRP, PPP, NAT, QOS, SNMP, VoIP, ACLs
Familiar with Firewalls, Switches, Routers and basic network troubleshooting
Experience with SAN and NAS technologies
Citrix experience

Requires excellent oral and written communication skills to work effectively with others regardless of departmental or geographic boundaries.
Requires the ability to produce detailed technical documentation.
Requires proficiency with PC software applications, E-Mail, and job associated applications/systems to expediently process work.
Requires experience developing and presenting recommendations using Power Point to peers and management.
Requires good organization skills to produce quality work, within required specifications, and within scheduled timelines.
