Network Administrator – Windows 2003/2008, Active Directory

Position Responsibilities

• Responsible for fully managing and supporting numerous network applications
• Proactively monitor all aspects of the computer network to resolve issues and suggest improvements
• Plan and implement network/server upgrades
• Coordinate with applications developers on network issues related to existing system enhancement or new system implementation
• Act as second level support for Help Desk personnel by providing troubleshooting for network-related end-user issues
• Be responsible for recurring network administration tasks (backups, network monitoring, upgrades/patches, etc.)
• Create and maintain network documentation
• This position includes some weekend and off-hours work/monitoring/support

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 2+ years of professional experience
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals
• Prior experience working with Windows 2003/2008, Active Directory, and WINS/DNS/DHCP
• Experience with server installation/maintenance including configuration, backups, patching, hardware, and security
• Ability to maintain a large network of servers and network devices
• Ability to fully manage firm-wide, complex network technology projects
• Willing to work weekend and off-hours doing monitoring and support work

Ideal Qualifications

Experience with the following:
• Working with remote offices and bandwidth technologies
• IP routing, network switches, routers, and protocols
• Cisco switch, router, and firewall technology
• Microsoft Exchange Server
• Voice over IP
• HP Proliant servers/hardware
• VPN installation/maintenance
• Mixed client environments (Microsoft/Macintosh)
• Data Loss Prevention, Network Access Control, Intrusion Prevention
• SQL Server administration

Technical Environment:

Infrastructure includes over 45 servers, several remote offices, Exchange-based email, Cisco network hardware, a voice-over-IP telephony infrastructure, firewalls, and other hardware and software applications
