Oracle/PeopleSoft Administrator

The Senior Oracle/PeopleSoft Administrator designs, develops, and implements complex databases applications to accommodate a wide variety of user needs with respect to access methods, access time, validation checks, organization, security, documentation, and statistical methods. Leads the administration of Informix, Oracle, Mysql and Postgres database systems. Provides support for systems such as PeopleSoft and to various units with customized databases or overarching database infrastructures. Reviews database design and integration of host systems and develops enhancements and improvements. Ensures accurate, appropriate, and effective use of data, including database structure, documentation, and operational guidelines. Creates and maintains database dictionaries. Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization. Provides database security design and support, and ensures proper database security guidelines followed. Applies or produces Web-based applications for database interactions. Integrates systems through client/server database design. Acts as a technical leader in database management and provides work leadership for lower level employees.

 

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent knowledge. Seven years of professional experience in a related field is desired. Oracle experience in a UNIX environment desired; Strong knowledge of Oracle 10g, 11g, Oracle security, UNIX shells – Korn shell, bash, perl. Good knowledge of UNIX – AIX, Solaris, HP-UX or Linux. Strong PeopleSoft skills. Experienced desired in PeopleTools Installation, PeopleTools/Application Upgrades, and midtier-performance tuning, configuration, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of Rational Database Management Systems (RDBMS), i.e. Oracle, Informix, Mysql, Postgres, and similar databases and database middleware. Knowledge of administration and development environments under multiplatforms. Ability to solve intellectual problems of substantial variety and complexity using originality and ingenuity. Ability to serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems. Ability to use substantial latitude for independent judgment and action. Ability to lead a project team. Experience working in complex environments with a high degree of organizational effectiveness
