ClearQuest Test Engineer w/ Unix, SQL, XML

Seeking a Senior Tester with deep experience with various test planning and test execution methods.
Experience throughout all phases of SDLC. Strong in technical skills, analysis, documentation, quality control, and quality assurance. Front-end and back-end testing experience a must.

Required Skills:
• Knowledge and progressive experience with tools and technologies required to execute various forms of system testing (regression, performance, etc), especially with data rich internet applications, data quality, and back-end data processing applications
• Understanding and experience across full system development life cycle
• Experience with test planning, test case development, black box and gray-box testing and test reporting
• Excellent customer relationship skills, sound business decision-making ability, along with communications and business development experience
• Experience with test design, execution, and traceability
• Experience with defect management and configuration management process
• Experience with task effort estimation, schedule development and tracking using MS Project
• Experience with defect tracking/resolution using ClearQuest tool
• Candidate should have proven record of  strong teamwork, interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills, and ability to work well independently and as a team
• Candidate should have 5+ years of progressive experience in the area of system development

Preferred Skills:
• Back-office ETL systems for complex and large sized data applications
• Search technologies (such and Endeca) and Mapping technology such as ESRI or Google Maps
• Unix commands & scripting experience
• PL/SQL , SQL Plus or TOAD
• XML Schema, XSLT, XPath, Xquery
• The ideal candidate also will have Federal Government experience

Responsibilities:
• Analyze system Requirements Specification and Designs to define test scenarios, develop test cases, automated test scripts, test conditions, define estimates for test development and execution efforts. (30%)
• Execute test cases, document exceptions, analyze and validate test results and trends with development teams and Census Bureau to ensure system and data quality (30%)
• Assess the impact of change requests collaboratively with peer development teams; identify risks and issues (15%)
• Mentor junior team members regarding feature requirements, testing strategy, test tools, and testing coverage to ensure all team members understand technical system requirements and that all testing is performed accurately (15%)
• Recommend and develop new, innovative, and efficient process improvements to current testing processes and methodologies including use of automated testing approaches (5%)

 

Security Requirements:
U.S. Department of Commerce Security Clearance required.
The candidate must be able to pass the standard background investigation for government work and must be authorized to work in the United States for at least 2 years preceding the application.
