Oracle Systems DBA- Must be Clearable or able to obtain Clearance

This position will actively provide technical support for operations and environment support aspects for the Data Base infrastructure which serves customers, engineering staff, user-support personnel and others in the organization. 
Essential Job Functions:
Designs, implements, customizes, maintains and administers database and system software products.
Performs Incident resolution, Problem Determination and Root Cause Analysis.  Oversees installations, monitoring and managing change to database (Overall Change Management for Database).
Oversees implementation of security guidelines in order to prevent unauthorized access to database and report any violations.
Monitors and tunes databases to achieve optimum performance levels in standalone and multi-tiered environments. Continually investigates and introduces process improvement.
Evaluates industry trends, standards and new technologies to recommend change (i.e., evaluate and integrate new database versions.  Tests software updates and patches)
In collaboration with System Engineering, Network Engineering and Operations teams, solves complex and recurring operational issues and develops corrective actions, as needed.
In conjunction with Internal Audit (IA), ensures business objectives and risks are effectively managed.
Partner with project technical leads to ensure technology solution and staff are in line with customer expectations and overall technology vision and goals
Coordinate with external project teams / resources, as needed.
Frequently communicate progress and issues.
Ensure compliance with standard practices, processes and enterprise standards.
Interacts regularly with Metrics team, developers, engineers, and other IT groups to ensure the Company’s Reliability, Availability and Serviceability (RAS) metrics are sustained and improved from current level.
Willing to work on an alternative schedule to extend team’s coverage for after hours support (evenings and / or weekends) for scheduled changes.
After hours incident/problem support (evenings and / or weekends) will be required on a rotational on-call basis.

Education / Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
4-8 years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator with at least 4 years using Oracle RDBMS and related software products (i.e. RMAN, OEM, OID, ASM).
3-5 years of experience in a production data center.
MS SQLServer a plus, but not required.
System Administration or scripting experience, a plus.
Passionate for delivering products and/or platforms and not one-off projects.
Demonstrated ability to delivery projects of high complexity and risk.
